ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
Hi! My name is Rena! Thank you for being here!!
Yoga has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom was a yoga teacher, and as a kid, I spent my days tagging along on her retreats, stretching on the mat beside her, and soaking up the magic of those experiences. I didn’t just learn the poses—I learned how to move through life with curiosity, connection, and adventure.
But, of course, like any good coming-of-age story, I lost touch with that part of myself. Somewhere in my teens, I got caught up in trying to "fit in," and yoga took a backseat. I drifted away—not just from my practice, but from me. It wasn’t until I rediscovered yoga and completed my 200-hour teacher training that I finally started feeling like myself again.
Around the same time, I found surfing. It was messy at first—wiping out, getting tossed around, feeling totally out of my element. But I was hooked. A year later, I somehow ended up as president of my university’s surf club. Not because I was the best surfer, but because I was the most passionate. The ocean became my second home, teaching me patience, presence, and the beauty of surrendering to something bigger than myself.
Yoga and surfing saved me. They cracked me open, brought me back to who I truly am, and introduced me to people who changed my life. They’ve taken me to places I never imagined and given me the confidence to create a life that actually feels like mine and that I love waking up to everyday.
Now, I want to share that with others.
Hosting retreats is my way of giving back—creating a space for women to explore, grow, and experience the magic that happens when you step outside your comfort zone. Whether it's flowing on the mat, catching waves, freediving with the sea’s creatures, or just laughing over post-surf coconuts, my goal is simple: to help you rediscover yourself.
Hi! I’m Morgan!
Movement has always been my favorite form of medicine. Whether I’m flowing through a yoga practice or paddling out into the ocean, these moments of movement ground me, challenge me, and bring me back to myself in ways nothing else can. Surfing and yoga are more than just physical practices—they are portals to deeper self-awareness, healing, and connection. They have humbled me, expanded my perspective, and introduced me to new versions of myself that I never knew existed.
In recent years, I truly found myself through these practices. They became my anchors during times of uncertainty, my space for self-discovery, and my reminder that everything I need is already within me. Through movement, breath, and presence, I’ve peeled back layers, healed in ways I never expected, and learned to show up more fully—both for myself and for others.
Experiencing this magic firsthand sparked a passion in me to help others access it as well. I knew I wanted to create spaces where people could tap into their own inner wisdom, feel more at home in their bodies, and cultivate a deeper sense of balance and peace. That journey led me to obtain my 200-hour RYT certification and dive into a doctoral program in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Alongside my studies, I currently work as an assisted stretch therapist, curating individualized programs for those looking to address chronic pain, improve mobility, and develop strength and control. I also teach vinyasa-style yoga in Southern California, emphasizing breath-to-movement connection, mindfulness, and embodied awareness. My offerings extend beyond the mat to include sound healing, meditation, and specialized Chinese massage, all with the ultimate goal of restoring the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
What continues to draw me back—whether to my mat or to the ocean—is the incredible community I have found through these practices. There is something so special about moving, breathing, and growing alongside others who share the same longing for connection and expansion. That’s exactly what this retreat is about—coming together in a space that celebrates divine feminine energy, the ocean, and pure authenticity. I cannot wait to share this experience with you, to move, to explore, and to create something truly special together.
Hi! I’m Mayson!
I am the heart behind Salty Sage. Being in the ocean has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—it is where I feel the most free, the most myself. In more recent years, surfing has become a huge part of my journey, deepening my connection to the water in ways I never expected. There is something about the way the waves move, the energy they carry, the way they remind us to let go.
Salty Sage began back in 2020, though at the time, I didn’t even realize I was starting something. It all started with long walks at the beach in Florida, searching for shark teeth—tiny pieces of history shaped by the sea. Each one was different, unique in its own way. I started making necklaces for myself and my friends, and before I knew it, people from all over were asking for them. That is when I realized this could be something more than just a hobby.
But Salty Sage is more than just a jewelry company. It is about honoring the ocean, protecting what we love, and creating something meaningful. The ocean has given me so much, and I believe in giving back. That’s why 10% of all profits go toward ocean conservation, helping to protect the waters that inspire everything I do!
And now, I am beyond excited for what’s next—hosting a retreat that brings all of my passions together. Surfing, diving, movement, and connecting with like-minded girls who share the same love for the sea. One of the things I’m most excited about? Hosting jewelry workshops where I’ll teach you how to create your own beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces—something you can wear as a reminder of this experience, of the ocean, of the memories we’ll make together.
This is more than a business—it has brought community and a new way of life, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!
We would love to help you reconnect with yourself. Join us to explore the power of yoga, surfing, and ocean adventure—finding freedom, balance, and home within.
why the name luana?
I chose the name Luana because it holds a special meaning to me—it’s a blend of my name, Rena, and my rescue dog’s name, Lua, who has been my little adventure buddy through it all. She came into my life at a time when I didn’t even realize I needed her, and in so many ways, she has been my greatest teacher. Through her, I’ve learned patience, presence, and the beauty of simply being. She reminds me every day to embrace the unknown, to find joy in the little moments, and to move through life with both curiosity and courage.
But beyond that personal connection, Luana carries such a beautiful meaning. It translates to being at ease, to enjoy, to be content—all of which perfectly embody the energy of this retreat. It’s about finding joy in the present moment, embracing adventure, and feeling completely at home within yourself. In some cultures, Luana also means graceful warrior, which feels so aligned with the strength, resilience, and flow we cultivate both in the ocean and on the mat.
Luana is more than just a name—it’s a feeling, a way of life, and an invitation to step into the most free and vibrant version of yourself. Just as Lua has been my little mascot, guiding me in ways I never expected, I hope to share that same energy with you. My goal is to hold space for you to explore, to grow, and to discover the deep inner wisdom that is already within you.
